The Inspired Society: The World We Want

The Inspired Society is a vision of the world we want, based on consciousness & mindfulness. One of the greatest discoveries of our time is that we can transform our minds to reach our highest potential, individually and collectively. Our genes and our history are just the springboard: we can be the artists of our lives.

An awakened and inspired society has creative workplaces, visionary governments and flourishing communities. If we align with this vision, we can all consciously evolve: this means intentionally creating our future. Imagine that; imagine having the power and the awareness to consciously create the next steps of our life, our society and our planet. This website is a collection of articles, interviews and reflections on the connection between the personal, the social and the global. I spent ten years at university studying law, politics, sociology and consciousness to discover out that social change can only come from individuals walking the path of consciousness. Awakened individuals transform organisations and companies. Organisations transform governments. And governments make laws to reflect our collective consciousness. The Inspired Society is based on the principle that our global community begins within each of us.

Healing the self is helping the whole. The Inspired Society is about treating the world as if was a person. It is about transforming the stories we tell ourselves and others about the state of society and the Earth. I fundamentally believe that social and global evolution must be accompanied by the personal empowerment of individuals.

If we want world peace, then we need to know how to reach a state of inner peace. We need to engage in regular peaceful rituals as individuals and as a society.

The Personal is Political

If we want gross national happiness, we all need to be consciously working towards our own personal happiness. We cannot have happiness on a large scale unless individuals know how to create happiness on a small scale.

Our Bodies are the Natural Environment

If we want to preserve a thriving global natural environment, then we need to honour our own bodies. Our body is the same as the garden, which is the same as the farm, which is the same as the cityscape, which is the same as the forest and the ocean.

We Are All Connected

We have become accustomed to distraction and disconnection from ourselves, our families and friends, our communities and nature. In our society, we have been conditioned to value competition, power, victory, and ‘survival of the fittest’ rather than cooperation, inter-dependence and compassion.

We need to shift the way that we approach the environment, politics and the economy.

We are all connected, so we can only thrive if the world is thriving.

The gateway to power is through vulnerability as much as strength.

We need to realise how intricately connected we are to the group. ‘The group’ is not just our small circle of beloved family and friends. The group extends to our village, our nation and the global community.

“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” -Lao Tzu

The shift in society begins with the shift within us. Let’s create an Inspired Society together.
